Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear, Texas

Cross Creek Ranch has teamed up with CHRISTUS St. Catherine to help fight breast cancer with the “Celebrate Your Princess” Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear, Texas.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the CHRISTUS St. Catherine Breast Cancer Awareness Fund, promoting community outreach, health, wellness and education.

Check-in begins at 8 am at Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear, TX. There will be tons of excitement in the Kids Zone – bounce house, rock wall, face painters and bobbing for apples! Walk to honor, to support or strengthen the cause and celebrate with us following, at the Pink Pamper Party with local boutiques, spa services, pet pampering and much, much more.

Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance Mixer takes place in Fulshear, TX.

The first Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance “Mixer” took place on Thursday,  September, 17th in Fulshear, Texas.  The mixer, which was the groups first official meeting, was held at the “The Lodge at Fulbrook Crossing”. The strong attendance indicated the high level of interest from local businesses to be represented by the regional Chamber Alliance.  Attendees received information about the Chamber Alliance and were encouraged to join the newly established group.  Guests enjoyed complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks.  Read more at Fulshear.com

Swimming Pool Effficiency in the Age of Green.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, Swimming pools lose energy in a variety of ways, but evaporation is by far the largest source of energy loss. Evaporating water requires tremendous amounts of energy. It only takes 1 BTU (British thermal unit) to raise 1 pound of water 1 degree, but each pound of 80ºF water that evaporates takes a whopping 1,048 BTU of heat out of the pool.

Outdoor Kitchens 101

Today’s outdoor kitchens come complete with built in grills that include stovetop style burners, roasting spits, and griddles; bar and service centers with sinks and refrigerators; storage space for cooking gear and dishes; counters for prep work; even built in lighting and stereo systems. Patio umbrellas, custom designed awnings or arbors protect cooking and food prep areas. Outdoor carpets and special rubber chef’s mats cover the “floor” for standing comfortably while cooking.
